Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026. This page explains, in plain words, what happens to your files and data when you use LovePDF.

Files processed in your browser

Merge, Split, Rotate, Organize, Edit, Sign, Watermark, Page Numbers, Crop, Redact, Compare, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG and Scan to PDF run entirely on your device. Your file is not uploaded, and we cannot see it.

Files processed on our server

Compress, OCR, Translate, Repair, Protect, Unlock, PDF/A, HTML to PDF and the Word, Excel and PowerPoint converters send your file to our server over HTTPS. The file is kept in temporary storage only for the seconds or minutes needed to process it, and it is deleted automatically as soon as your result has been delivered. We do not open, read, share or sell your documents, and we do not keep copies or backups of them. Passwords you type for Protect or Unlock are used once and never stored.

What we log

Like every website, our server records standard technical logs (IP address, time, the page or tool requested, browser type) to keep the service secure and to prevent abuse. Logs do not contain your files or their contents.

Cookies and analytics

The tools work without cookies. If we use analytics or advertising in the future, this page will list the providers and how to opt out.

Your choices

If a document is highly sensitive, prefer the browser-based tools, which never upload anything. For questions, write to us through the contact page.
