What it does not do
The editor does not rewrite the existing text of a PDF in place. There is no AI here either. Interactive form fields are not treated specially, but you can type over them like any other part of the page.
Add text to PDF online for forms and applications
This is the feature people use most. Choose Text, tap where the words should go and start typing. You can add text to PDF online in English, Hindi or any other language your keyboard can type. Pick the dark ink or blue for a form, red for a correction, and change the size with A− and A+ until your answer sits neatly on the printed line.

Edit a PDF form that is not fillable
Many forms are plain scans with boxes and lines. Zoom in, choose Text, tap inside the first box and type. Move to the next box with the Move tool if a word lands off the line. For a checkbox, type x or draw a tick. When you edit a PDF form this way, the words become part of the page, so nobody can accidentally clear them later.
Edit a PDF resume before you send it
Your resume was exported to PDF months ago and the phone number has changed. You do not need the original file. Open it here, white out the old number, type the new one in the same size, and save. How to edit PDF text and content that is already there
A PDF is more like a printed sheet than a typed document. The words are fixed in place. That is why a light tool like this one cannot click into a sentence and retype it. To edit PDF text online you have two routes, both free, depending on how much needs to change.
Small fixes: white-out and type over
For a wrong date, a phone number or one line of an address, choose Erase and drag a white box over the old words. Then choose Text and type the new words on top. Match the size with A− and A+. You can edit other PDF content online in the same way, such as an old logo or a stray mark: cover it, then place what should be there.
The Text tool uses one clean, readable font and has no font picker. This is not a PDF editor with the same font as the original. If you need to edit a PDF with the same font across a whole paragraph, the conversion route below is the better choice.
One warning. The white box covers the old content but does not delete it from inside the file. To hide an account number or ID number for good, use redact PDF, which removes what is under the box.
Bigger rewrites: edit PDF to Word or Excel

Choose Highlight and drag across a line. A see-through colour band is laid over it, like a marker pen on paper. To highlight a whole paragraph, drag once per line, or make one taller box. Use Draw to circle a figure or add an arrow, and Text to write a short note in the margin.

Press Image, pick a PNG or JPG from your device, then drag it into place and resize it from the corner. This is how you add a passport photo to a form, a company stamp to an invoice or a logo to a letter. You can edit a PDF image online only in this sense: pictures already in the PDF cannot be changed, but you can cover one with Erase and place a new one on top.
Edit PDF pages: reorder, rotate, remove or resize
