What a PDF to WebP converter is for
WebP is the image format the web moved to because it is small. A page saved as WebP is usually 25 to 35 percent lighter than the same page as JPG and several times lighter than PNG, at the same visible quality. If you publish a brochure page on a website, show a menu on a restaurant page, embed a certificate in a portfolio, or put a product sheet into an app, WebP is what makes the page load quickly on a phone with a weak signal.
This tool takes a PDF file and gives you one WebP image per page. It uses the same page renderer as our PDF to JPG converter, but the output format is preset to WebP at quality 92, a level chosen so that text edges and thin lines stay clean while the file stays small. It is free, needs no sign-up, adds no watermark, and does not limit how many files you convert.
Everything runs in your browser. The PDF is drawn onto a canvas page by page, and each canvas is encoded to WebP by the browser itself. Nothing is uploaded, so an invoice, a bank statement or a private report can be converted without it ever touching a server.
PDF to WebP image converter: what you get
Each PDF to WebP image is a full-colour picture of the whole page at the resolution you chose, with a white background. Text, tables, photos and drawings are all included exactly as they appear in a PDF viewer. The images open in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari 16 or newer, on Android and iPhone, and in every modern image editor.
Can you convert PDF to WebP without losing quality?
WebP here is lossy but at a high setting, so you will not see artefacts at normal size. Sharpness depends on the dpi you pick: 144 for screens, 216 or 300 if the image will be zoomed or shown large. For pixel-perfect line art where any compression is unacceptable, use PDF to PNG instead and accept the bigger file.
Convert PDF to WebP in high quality: picking a resolution
A PDF has no pixels of its own, so the converter has to decide how many to draw. That is the Resolution setting, and it is the only choice you need to make. The quality slider is fixed at 92, so file size differences come almost entirely from dpi.
- Screen (72 dpi): tiny files, right for thumbnails and previews in a list.
- Good (144 dpi): the default, sharp on phone and laptop screens, usually 60 to 200 KB for a text page.
- Print (216 dpi): for images that will be zoomed, or shown on large desktop monitors.
- High (300 dpi): for print-quality WebP, at the cost of files several times bigger.
Sizes you can expect
A text-only A4 page at 144 dpi tends to land between 60 and 150 KB as WebP, against 150 to 300 KB as JPG and 300 KB to 1 MB as PNG. A page with a large photo might be 200 to 400 KB. If you need an image under 100 KB for an upload form, drop to 72 dpi, or use JPG, which many portals still require.
Convert PDF to WebP, then to JPG or PNG
If a website later asks for JPG, you do not have to convert PDF to WebP to JPG by hand. Run the original PDF through the PDF to JPG tool instead; converting an already-compressed WebP again only stacks two rounds of compression. The same goes for PNG: go back to the PDF and convert PDF to PNG directly.
WebP to PDF: the other direction
A large share of the people who land here actually want the reverse trip: how to convert WebP to PDF, how to turn a WebP into a PDF, how to make a WebP file into a PDF, or how to change a WebP downloaded from a website or WhatsApp into a document a form will accept. That is a different tool, and it is just as free: the online WebP to PDF converter runs in your browser too, and converting a WebP file to PDF there takes one click.
It accepts one WebP or many, lets you drag them into order, and gives you a single PDF. Page size can be Same size as the image, A4 or US Letter; margin can be None, Small or Large. Animated WebP files are converted using their first frame.
Multiple WebP to one PDF, with or without margin
Select all the images at once and they become pages of one PDF in the order shown; drag to rearrange. Choose Margin: None when you want WebP to PDF with no margin, the picture filling the page edge to edge, or Small when the PDF will be printed and you want a safe border. Because everything is done on your device, you effectively convert WebP to PDF offline: once the page is open, the converter needs no connection at all.
WebP to PDF without losing quality
The WebP is placed into the PDF as-is; it is not re-encoded, so the PDF looks exactly like the image. If the WebP came from a website it may already be small, and the resulting PDF will be small too, which is handy for upload limits. There is no WebP to PDF converter download or software to install; the same page works on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac.
Webpage to PDF is a different job, and we have a tool for it
Searches for webpage to PDF, web page to PDF and how to print a webpage to PDF often end up on WebP pages because the words look alike. They are unrelated: WebP is an image format, a webpage is a site you visit. If you want to save a webpage as a PDF, the HTML to PDF converter takes a public link and returns a PDF in A4 or Letter, portrait or landscape, rendered with a real Chrome engine so modern layouts look right.
The best way to print a webpage to PDF without any tool is your browser's own print dialog: press Ctrl+P (Cmd+P on Mac), choose Save as PDF as the printer, and save. That built-in PDF printer works on every desktop browser and on Android Chrome via Share, then Print. Use the HTML to PDF tool when you want cleaner output, a chosen page size, or when you are on a device where printing is awkward.
Can I convert a webpage to PDF if it needs a login?
Not with the link-based tool, because our server cannot sign in as you. For pages behind a login, or pages that block automated visitors, use the print-to-PDF method in your own browser, where you are already logged in. You can also save the page as an .html file and upload that instead.
PDF to web page, web link or web form: what is possible
A PDF to webpage converter in the strict sense, turning a document into an editable HTML page, is not something LovePDF offers, free or paid, and automatic results from such tools are usually a mess of absolute-positioned text. What most people really need is one of three simpler things, and each has a clear route.
To show a PDF on a website, convert its pages to WebP here and place the images on the page; visitors see the content instantly with no PDF plugin, and the images are light. To create a PDF to web link, upload the PDF to any cloud storage or your own site and share the file's URL; we do not host files, since nothing is stored on our servers. There is no PDF to web form converter here either: a form people fill in online has to be rebuilt in a form builder, because a PDF cannot become an interactive web form by conversion.
PDF to web format for apps and pages
For a PDF web application, a knowledge base or a mobile app, WebP page images at 144 dpi are the lightest web format that still reads well. Pair them with the PDF as a download link so users who want to print or search can still get the original. This is a free PDF to web workflow with no sign-up and no server involved on our side.
Online PDF to offline PDF
If a PDF only exists at a web address and you want a copy on your device, open the link and use your browser's download or share button; the file is then yours offline. Every tool on this site, including this one, produces a normal downloadable file, so an online PDF becomes an offline PDF the moment you save it.
Fixing the PDF before you convert: remove, delete, arrange pages, remove password
Some searches that arrive here are really about tidying the PDF first. A quick map, since each is a separate browser-based tool on this site.
If you came looking for a pdf page remover, or a way to delete pages online, open organize PDF: it shows every page as a thumbnail, and you can delete, rotate and drag pages into a new order, which also makes it a pdf page arranger. Save, then convert the cleaned file to WebP here, so the ZIP only holds the pages you want.
To remove a PDF password, the unlock PDF tool removes the open password if you know it and clears printing or copying restrictions without one. This converter cannot open a locked PDF, so unlock first. We never guess or crack passwords; use it only on files you are allowed to open.
Devices, browsers and offline use for PDF to WebP
WebP encoding is done by the browser, so support depends on the browser rather than the operating system. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera have encoded WebP for years; Safari does it from version 16, which means macOS Ventura, iOS 16 and newer. On an older iPhone or Mac, the tool falls back to producing files you can still open, but for true WebP output update Safari or use Chrome.
Android and iPhone
A 10-page PDF converts in a few seconds on a mid-range Android phone. The ZIP opens in the Files app, and each image can be shared or uploaded from there. Because WebP is what WhatsApp uses for stickers and many sites use for pictures, your phone already knows how to display the results.
Windows, Mac and Linux
Drop the PDF from your file manager, convert, unzip. Windows 10 and 11 preview WebP in Explorer and Photos; macOS shows it in Preview and Finder; most Linux image viewers handle it. If a desktop program you use refuses WebP, convert the PDF to PNG or JPG instead, since there is no PDF to WebP software to install here in any case.

How to save a WebP file as a PNG: open it in any image editor or your phone's gallery and export as PNG; LovePDF does not offer image-to-image conversion, and the same is true if you want to convert PNG to WebP; free image editors do that. If you want to convert PDF to Word, the PDF to Word tool gives an editable document, and if you want WebP to JPG for a form, again an image editor is the quickest route. To go from any image back into a document, image to PDF accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG and HEIC.
